Learning about Adsense and Adwords

I've been fooling around with Google's Adsense and Adwords for a few years now and decided it was time to get serious. I advertise with Adwords already and I know somebody else is very happy taking my money. I also have a lot of hobbyist blogs that I'm not properly monetizing. Therefore, I've given myself an adsense and adwords training budget, and am enrolling/purchasing as much adwords courses, tutors, and adwords and adsense training programs as I can.

My learning goals - which, by the way, will be reflected in the content of this site - are as follows:

Adwords:
a) Learn how to write stunning, attention grabbing, must-be-clicked adwords ads for competitive key words.
b) Learning how to find and choose the best adwords keywords.
c) Learn how to optimize a page for adword-specific content
d) Learn how to write very specific adwords ads to save money with customers who are getting exactly what they want.

Adsense:
a) Write blogs that people have some interest in.
b) Write blogs for specific adsense content.
c) Learn where the best position for adsense boxes are.
d) Continue building and writing articles
e) Develop a specific niche through writing style, voice and unique content.

I have made - in my lifetime, less than $20 from Google Adsense, and spent more than $500 on Google Adwords. That's just poor planning. My goal for this year is to make $500 a month on Google Adwords. Wish me luck!
